Phillip Phillips vs. Cody Rhodes

Not even a second into Phillip Phillip's entrance music, the crowd erupted in cheers that drowned out Superstar. Phillip couldn't help but grin at the crowd's enthusiasm as he sprinted down the ramp, outstretching both his hands as he swerved from left to right in attempt to high-five the crowd's hands. Today, Phillip was wearing a singlet with a skeleton design, and white boots, elbow, and knee pads. As he neared the end of the ramp, he began to slow down and stare at the unforgiving steel structure hanging above the ring, ready to enclose him and the International Champion. After making it to the ring, he jumped up to the apron and violently shook the rope before jumping over it and dashing up to the top rope. Once in the ring, he walked to the middle and performed a fragment of the Thriller dance, just because he's cool like that, then spun around towards the stage and beckoned for Cody Rhodes to enter.

Cross walked out, staring intently at Phillip Phillips. He wasn't supposed to be out here, but the chance was his to take. He nodded at Rhodes, who simply smiled as Cross took a seat at the Announcers Table.

Before the bell rang, the cage slowly began to lower over the ring. By the time the bell had sounded, Cody and Phillip were completely enclosed. However, Phillip was distracted by the appearance of his former tag team partner and best friend. Just his presence struck Phillip with anger. He held out both middle fingers, then turned around only to meet Cody Rhodes' feet with a dropkick.

After Phillip tumbled down to the floor outside of the ring, Cody Rhodes followed close by. He lifted Phil up, then grabbed his hair and rubbed his face into the steel wall mulitple tims before pulling his head back. But before Cody could slam his opponent's face into the cage wall, Phil grabbed the wires to prevent it and nailed Cody with a low blow from the side. Cody fell to his knees, and Phillip grabbed him by the shoulders and rolled him back into the ring. He followed Cody in, climbing the top rope and jumping off for an elbow drop.

Phillip slowly got up after the failed elbow drop, and noticed Cody sitting in the corner. He was confused as to how he got there, but went for it anyways. He grabbed Cody by the legs in preperation for an alley oop bomb, but Cody quickly lashed out the kendo stick and nailed Phillip in the balls with it, causing him to fall to his knees and his eyes to water.

Cody Rhodes walked over to Phillip with the brass knuckles, and began to lift Phillip up. He went for a huge right hand, but Phil saw it coming and quickly thrusted his arm out to block the punch, then pushed Cody away and came back at him with a spinning wheel kick. Phil sprung back up to his feet, and Cody rolled out of the ring for safety. He leaned against the cell wall and closed his eyes, panting for breath while Phillip took the opportunity to rebound off the ropes and fly through the middle one for a suicide dive...

The impact of the brass knuckles and the steel wall busted open Phillip and created a small gash on Phillip's forehead. However, it was quickly expanding, and blood began to drip down his face. Cody rolled Phillip into the ring, then followed him in and hooked a leg for the pin.

1... 2... kickout!

Cody began to repeatedly punch Phillip, but he held his hands in front of his face in attempt to block the punches. The referee began to lecture Cody; however, this was a no-DQ match, so the excessive punching was legal. Cody began to argue with the referee, and Phillip slowly crawled to the ropes and tried to pull himself up. By the time Rhodes turned around, Phillip was back up on his feet. Cody, frustrated, ran towards Phil with a lariat, who quickly dodged and ran behind Cody with a quick double knee backbreaker.

Cross: "You see this? This is great entertainment... if you're a monkey. I think I have a way to make this EVEN better."

He stood up, brandishing Bolt Cutters in his hands, and slowly began walking toward the Cell.

Cross dragged Rhodes on top, waiting for the ref to count the pin.

1... 2... kickout!

Austin pulled Cody over for a pin, but the frustration and anger propelled him to kickout with all his remaining strength. Both Austin and Cody seemed shocked, and the ref lectured Austin as Cody began to lift up Phil again. Cody tried to pick him up in a suplex positon, but Phil kept his feet planted on the ground and pushed Cody into the turnbuckle, then kept him out of the way with a superkick. He then turned around just as Austin did, and quickly took him down with a spear. He spat on his former tag team partner's face, then uttered the words–

"Payback's a bitch."

–before kicking Austin out of the ring.

Austin landed with an audible thud, knocking the air from his lungs. He felt under the ring as Phil stood there, taunting. He grasped onto a Steel Chair, covered in Barb-Wire. He smiled, as he remembered Rhodes putting it there earlier in the day. Cross slid up behind Phil, then thrust the Chair into his back.

Phillip didn't notice Austin coming up from behind with the barbed wire-wrapped chair. Austin nailed him hard in the back, and Phil collapsed to his knees as Austin recoiled the chair, pulling the barbed wire out of Phillip's spine. Cody was now back on his feet, and knocked down Phil with a low dropkick before bouncing off the second rope and hitting him with a springboard stomp to the back, which was now covered in small cuts.

Cross slid the chair under Phil's stomach, then climbed the top rope. After taunting, he jumped and hit a 630 Senton, nailing him hard in the back.

The impact of Austin sent Phillip crashing into the barbed wire-wrapped chair below, and now his chest was full of cuts, too. Austin rolled out of the rings, then sat back and watched as Cody Rhodes lifted a limp, lifeless Phil back to his feet. He locked in an inverted facelock, then hit a Cross Rhodes. Phillip lay motionless on the ground, soaked in blood as Cody went for a pin.
